Japanese-inspired Ealing Refurbishment

Discover a recent project we embarked on in Ealing, where we transformed a 1970s three-bedroom house into a Japanese-inspired haven. This comprehensive refurbishment involved meticulous planning, careful attention to detail, and close collaboration with renowned interior designer Yoko Kloeden and stylist Nina Lili Holden. The result is a serene retreat that brings a touch of Japan to West London, offering the homeowners a tranquil escape from city life.

Ealing Refurbishment Project Overview:

Our clients, inspired by a recent journey to Japan, sought to incorporate elements of Japanese culture into their Ealing home. They envisioned a space that would exude tranquillity and minimalism, capturing the essence of Japanese aesthetics while blending seamlessly with their London lifestyle. Our team managed every stage of this transformation, from the initial demolition to structural alterations and a full internal refurbishment, all designed to fulfil the homeowners’ vision.

Refurbishment Process and Details

1.

Demolition and Structural Alterations

  • To achieve an open and airy layout, we began with selective demolition, creating a more expansive floor plan that allowed natural light to flow freely throughout the home.

  • Key structural alterations were made to support this new layout, maximising space while enhancing the property's functionality.

2.

Bespoke Joinery and Craftsmanship

  • All joinery was bespoke and crafted meticulously by our team, blending Japanese-inspired aesthetics with practicality. From minimalist cabinetry to custom shelving, each piece was thoughtfully designed to add to the home’s serene ambience.

  • High-quality natural materials were selected to reflect the Japanese ethos of simplicity and harmony with nature.

3.

Interior Design and Finishing Touches

  • Working with Yoko Kloeden and Nina Lili Holden, the interior design process emphasised soft, muted colour palettes and limewash paint, creating a calming backdrop for daily life.

  • Texture and tone were prioritised over bold colours, enhancing the sense of tranquillity. Every room was transformed into a peaceful retreat, aligning with the homeowners’ vision of a Japanese-inspired space.

  • Flooring and finishes were chosen to evoke a warm, natural feel, aligning with Japanese design principles that celebrate simplicity and organic beauty.

The Result: A Calming, Japanese-Inspired Retreat in Ealing

The finished property now serves as a sanctuary for the homeowners, offering a serene atmosphere with an understated elegance. The use of natural materials, custom joinery, and thoughtful interior design has created a space that feels uniquely personal yet universally calming. Each area of the home reflects the beauty of Japanese minimalism, making it a space of peace and comfort amid London’s bustling lifestyle.
